Otago Champs!

In the weekend I had Otago Champs which is a regional swim event.  I got:  bronze: 200m breaststroke, bronze 50m breaststroke, 4th 100m breaststroke, 5th 200IM, 5th 200 freestyle.  Our team did really well and it was really fun staying with the team.  We stayed at University College in Dunedin, there was games room and guess what movie was playing?  Harry Potter!

Social!

On Friday night we had our Year 7 & 8 Social.  The theme was Masquerade.  It was super fun, much more fun than we expected.  We learnt the dances it was a bit awkward, but everyone was fine on the night and had a lot of fun.  One of the highlights of the year!

Kotuitui, Young Vinnies Lunch, Chinese Calligraphy Competition

Today we had a fish and chip lunch for being a Young Vinnie. I like being a Young Vinnie because I like talking to people.  At Kotuitui we all got a badge and a certificate for being involved with Young Vinnies.  I also got a Merit award for Chinese Calligraphy!

Kiwi Challenge Swim Meet

Right after camp, I went straight into a swim meet!  I wanted to do this swim meet, because I wanted the challenge, to see if after camp you could still get PB's.  I was really, really tired and I did not get PB's, but I still swam and well and got bronze in 200m breast stroke and finalist ribbons, 4th in 100 Breaststroke, 4th in 50 breaststroke and 8th in 200 IM.  After I had finished all my races, my friend Zoe bought her underwater camera and we mucked around with and it was really fun!

Santa Parade!

Yesterday, I was on the Parish Float for the Santa Parade.  I was dressed up as an angel.  I saw heaps of friends in the crowd.  My arm got very tired of waving and it became automatic.  Yneke, Michael and I all agree that it would be not fun to be a celebrity or a royal!

Citizenship Cup

Just before camp, I was awarded the Citizenship Cup.  There is not a picture of it, because someone didn't return it from the last week.  Mrs Asi said I got the cup because I was respectful, well-mannered and a good friend to everyone.  She also likes how I give everything a go.  The week after camp our whole class got the cup for not being grumpy for it being rainy and missing out on stuff on camp.
